Connected Hubs to showcase Ireland's National Hubs Network at Europe's largest outdoor event

With one week to go to ‘Ploughing 2022’ Connected Hubs is gearing up to represent the hub network to an audience of over 300,000 attendees.

Ploughing 2022 brings together people from all sectors of Irish society, both rural and urban, to enjoy three days immersed in country living.  A key target for the Connected Hubs team will be to raise awareness of hubs among the agricultural sector and rural communities.

We will be highlighting the supports on offer through the hubs such as: Ag Tech industry clusters, entrepreneurial support for start-ups, professional workspaces for SMEs and remote workers, and training facilities for agricultural organisations.

The Connected Hubs team will also be talking to corporate partners about programmes to support their remote and hybrid working policies.  By offering professional workspaces for corporates teams, conferencing, and remote ‘away day’ opportunities, hubs are in more in demand than ever as a solution for indigenous and international companies.

As the country readjusts to new ways of working following the Covid pandemic, the Connected Hubs programme works with businesses and organisations to support the development of their remote and hybrid coworking policies.

And with sustainability a key theme for this year’s event, we will also be discussing how hub working contributes to Ireland’s climate goals and the sustainability of rural communities. Many of our Connected Hubs are located in rural locations around Ireland and a key focus for them is providing services to support and retain local talent.

Stephen Carolan, National Hubs Programme Manager, highlights the role Connected Hubs have in promoting Digital First communities.  “Connected Hubs is a founder member of the Digital Ireland Network, a network dedicated to ‘Reimagining Rural Ireland’. We are promoting the role of hubs as drivers to help individuals, communities and SMEs to meet the digital challenges and opportunities that lie ahead”.

Come along and chat to us in the Our Rural Future - Supporting Communities area - Block 3, Row 19, Stand 309.
